about pt club
We coach people to move well, get stronger, and live better for longer
PT Club is not a gym you pass through. It is a coaching environment in Archway, North London, built around one purpose: helping you close the gap between how long you live and how well you live. Book a free call and find out if we are the right fit for you.
The Story Behind
Why this business exists goes deeper than a career in fitness
Daniel Humphries, founder of PT Club, spent years working at a personal training studio in Highgate alongside physiotherapists and osteopaths. It was there he built the corrective exercise and movement foundations that sit at the centre of PT Club's coaching today. He went on to complete Functional Range Conditioning training and developed a deep focus on how people move, age, and stay capable through the decades.
Then there is the personal story.
Daniel's father Mike had a heart attack at 46. What followed was two decades of deteriorating health, compounding operations, and a situation where the surgery he now needs is no longer possible because his body is not strong enough to withstand it. The mental and physical toll on the whole family has been real.
That is the healthspan conversation made personal. It is not a marketing angle. It is the reason PT Club exists.
Three years ago, Daniel opened the small group studio. Everything PT Club does, the longevity philosophy, the corrective exercise foundation, the culture of long-term relationships, was built from that experience and that purpose.

How We Coach
Three principles that guide every session at PT Club
Move well first
Before any client is loaded with weight, we assess how they move. Compensations, restrictions, imbalances. Every new client completes a 1:1 Movement MOT before entering a single group session. This corrective exercise foundation was built over years working alongside physiotherapists and osteopaths and informed by Functional Range Conditioning training. If you move well, you can train hard. If you move poorly and train hard, you get injured.
Train for the long game
Strength training is the most evidence-backed tool available for ageing well. It protects bone density, preserves muscle mass, supports hormonal health, and keeps people independent and capable for longer. We are not chasing a 12-week result. We are building something that lasts decades.
Know your client
Every session adapts to the person in front of us, not the programme on the screen. How someone walks in on a given day matters. A good coach reads that and adjusts. That is not soft. That is the difference between training that works and training that breaks people down.

The Team
Coaches who take what they do seriously, and genuinely care about the people they do it with
Daniel Humphries, Founder
Daniel built PT Club after opening his own studio during Covid, drawing on years of experience working alongside physiotherapists and osteopaths in Highgate. He has completed Functional Range Conditioning training and specialises in longevity, corrective exercise, and working with clients managing complex conditions. He is now transitioning from the gym floor to focus on growing the business, the team, and the community PT Club is becoming.

Ubaid, Head Coach
Ubaid has been with PT Club for three years and is the heartbeat of the small group programme. He leads every small group session and has been central to building the culture and community that makes PT Club different. He is the coach most of our small group members will work with most often, and his consistency, warmth, and technical quality are central to PT Club's results.

Who We Work With
The door is open to everyone who is ready to commit to their health
Our small group programme is built specifically for women aged 40 to 65. We have a particular specialism in perimenopause and menopause and work with women who want to build genuine strength, improve bone density, and feel more in control of their bodies as they age.
Our 1:1 personal training covers a far wider range. Our clients are aged from 24 to 90 years old. We work with people managing Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and complex post-surgical recovery including hip replacements and shoulder surgery. We also work with clients who simply want to invest in their long-term health and prefer the individual attention of a 1:1 approach.
If you have been told elsewhere that your condition or your age makes it too complicated, come and speak to us.
What Our Clients Say
The results that matter most
Dan is a superb personal trainer
Highly attentive to individual needs and provides excellent easy to follow bespoke workout programmes for your own time, whilst being very motivating and focused during 1:1's. The best trainer I have ever worked with.
Hamish
Dan is an excellent personal trainer
He has been helping me to stay fit and healthy for the last 10 years, and has become a friend. Having one-on-one sessions means I have no concerns about using his gym, which has all the weights, bike, and other equipment you could need. I recommend him to you!
Kevin
Daniel is a true professional and has such depth of experience
He knows exactly the limits he can press his clients to and I was always looking forward to our sessions, which flew because of the intensity and variety of the exercises of each session. I am 85 and enjoyed every minute. I had to stop for medical reasons but will resume shortly.
John
What We Stand For
The values that guide every session, every conversation, and every decision
Honesty over hype
We name what others avoid. Menopause. Sarcopenia. Bone density. The truth about what the body needs as it ages. Our clients trust us because we tell them the truth.
Education first
A client who understands their body makes better decisions for the rest of their life. We teach, not just train.
Empathy in every session
How someone walks in on a given day is information. Every session is adapted to the real person, not the programme on the clipboard.
Longevity over aesthetics
How well you live matters more than how long you live. Everything at PT Club is built around closing that gap.
Community over transactions
PT Club is not a gym people pass through. It is a place they belong to. Real friendships, real support, a culture built deliberately over time.
If you want coaching that takes you seriously, PT Club might be exactly what you have been looking for
